Whatever It Takes – Healthcare Champions for February 2024

Life Care Centers of America's Whatever it Takes Champions program honors associates who go beyond their job descriptions in caring for our skilled nursing patients and long-term care residents, their families and fellow associates. Here are four of the inspiring stories from our recent winners. These associates are certainly Champions of Care!

Ami Davis, Payroll/HR Coordinator at Lynchburg Nursing Center

Ami does her best to make her residents and fellow associates feel comfortable and celebrated. During the week of Valentine’s Day, she asked residents and colleagues to name their ideal Valentine’s gift and favorite Valentine’s movie so that she could create a fun game for everyone. According to her colleagues, Ami always has a smile on her face and enjoys helping others in fun and creative ways.

Thanks for helping your facility connect and have fun, Ami!

Youssef Eladlani, Floor Tech at Mayfair Village Nursing Center

Youssef goes beyond his role as a floor tech to aide his boss in welcoming and training new associates. During new-hire orientations, Youssef serves as a translator, which allows new employees who are still learning English and to receive the information and guidance they need to feel secure and grow in their new roles at the facility.

Thank you, Youssef, for your constant willingness to help others!

Brandi Wilson, Certified Nursing Assistant at The Highlands

Brandi used her own time and money to put smiles on her residents’ faces. Recently, she went on a shopping spree and picked up specific gift items for each of her residents––based on their personal tastes and interests. She knew these gifts would be a great way to remind the residents how special and unique they are.

Way to go, Brandi, for showing our residents kindness and generosity!

The Highlands

Frances Hill, Housekeeping & Laundry Assistant at Life Care Center of Hixson

Frances has been described as bright, cheerful, compassionate and helpful. She often brings special treats for her fellow associates and does all her work with a smile on her face. But as her most noteworthy act, she comes in on her off days to cut and style the hair of one of our residents, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to receive regular stylings.

Thank you, Frances, for doing so much for our associates and residents!
